No issues with my certificate — Ashiru

- From Andrew Agbese, Kaduna

The PDP governorship candidate in Kaduna State, Isa Mohammed Ashiru, has said he has no issues with INEC over his certificate.

Ashiru, in a statement from his media organization, said all the documents he submitted to INEC for the purpose of the forthcoming gubernatorial election were genuine and complete.

He, therefore, called on the people of Kaduna State to ignore the allegations that his papers were not complete, describing the claim as a manifestation of the desperation of the ruling APC to create doubt and confusion in the minds of people who he said “have clearly resolved to vote out the present government in 2019.”

The governorship candidate urged his supporters across the state to remain confident, steadfast and focused, saying the day of reckoning was approaching.

Ashiru said the architects of the “baseless allegation” should be reminded that between 1999 and 2015, he contested and won election four times.

“How could I have become a member of Kaduna State House of Assembly from 1999 to 2007 and subsequently member of the Federal House of Representatives from 2007 to 2015 if my school certificates were or are still deficient or incomplete? Or at what point did they become so?” he asked.

The PDP candidate said he understood that those behind the allegations were only trying to derive a false sense of comfort hoping that something that will frustrate his aspiration would emerge from there.
