- By Opeyemi Kehinde, Lagos

Diamond Bank Plc has released its third quarter unaudited financial report for the period ended September 30, 2018 and disbursed over N1 billion to small business owners under the cash flow-based SMEs lending scheme in partnership with Women’s World Banking (WWB) within the period.

The Q3 report, which was released to the management and stockbrokers of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), highlights the bank’s strong focus on the Nigerian market, especially the retail sector through its technologyled retail strategy to drive growth and position SMEs for competitiveness.

This has enabled the bank to be ranked among the first five SME customer banks in Nigeria, according to the KPMG customer service survey 2018.

Commenting on the report, the Chief Executive Officer of Diamond Bank Plc, Mr. Uzoma Dozie said: “The global economy is currently witnessing a shift in trade relations alongside continued interest rate adjustments. This has led to greater volatility across markets and increasingly fragile economies.”

The bank however noted that aside disbursing N1 billion to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), in partnership with Women’s World Banking as of September 30, 2018, the bank also introduced SMEzone to the market - an informationsharing platform aimed at positioning entrepreneurs for competitiveness.
