Teacher nabbed over defilement of 5-yr-old pupil

The Gombe State Police Command at the weekend paraded a primary school teacher for allegedly defiling a 5-year-old pupil.

The teacher, one Bilyaminu Halilu, 26, residing at Hayin Misau area of Gombe metropolis, was arrested by the police on November 1, over alleged rape of the girl (name withheld).

Parading the suspect before journalists, the state Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Garba Mukaddas, said the teacher allegedly took the girl to his office at the Raudatul Qur’an Primary and Secondary School, Gombe and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her on his table.

He said the incident was discovered by the girl’s mother when she noticed blood on her daughter’s private part while bathing her the same evening of the incident. “Upon inquiry the girl told the mother what transpired between her and the teacher at the school,” Mukaddas said.

In another development, one Zakari Shehu of Dawaki quarters, Gombe has been arrested by the police for allegedly luring a 12-year-old boy into his shop located at Dukku Motor Park and forcefully sodomising him.
