Foundation pledges educational support for orphanage in FCT
Destined Child International Foundation, an Abuja-based Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) has promised to offer educational empowerment to an orphanage in Abuja.
The Foundation said it would carry out the empowerment in French tutoring of the children at the Abuja Children Home located in Karu, a satellite town in the FCT.
Mrs Maryrose Oduche, the founder of the foundation stated this on Monday during a visit to the orphanage by members of National Association of SeaDogs (NAS), Pyrates Confraternity.
“I am here to partner with NAS in bringing to the doorsteps of these children, free French tutorials. It is among the initiatives of Destined Child to see that those children especially the orphans among them have basic education.
“As you and I know today that education is the best gift that you can give to a child, we agree to partner with NAS to bring French classes to the children, so that they will be able to speak French.
“We believe that if they are bi-lingua, they will have an edge than their peers, we have been doing one or two things among which is giving scholarships to the less privileged to help humanity,” Oduche said.
Earlier, Mr Stanley Nwodo, Capon, Sahara Deck, (Abuja) said his members were at the orphanage to show some love to the children who really do not have the opportunity of getting much care from their parents.
According to Nwodo, it was the second time the association would be visiting the orphanage to identify with the children.
“We are here to showcase our humanistic ideal to the society, we are members of NAS international, the pyrates confraternity, we are here to show our love for humanity, what you are seeing here today is one of such moves we have been doing. (NAN)
