Imenger satisfied with Lobi Stars’ preparation for Champions League
@Ngobuadavid The Team Manager of Lobi Stars, Barnabas Imenger has expressed satisfaction with the team’s preparation for next year’s domestic league and CAF Champions League.
In a telephone interview with Daily Trust, the former BCC Lions and El-Kanemi Warriors striker said after over four weeks of camping in Ogun State, Lobi Stars are adequately prepared for the challenges ahead.
He said, “The last four weeks in close camping have been wonderful and fruitful in terms of preparation for the assignments ahead of us.
“It has been weeks of hard work and total concentration on physical, technical and tactical training. As matter of fact, all the practice matches we have played against football academies were rewarding as the young players came with high level techniques, skills, power and the right fighting spirit, stretching our boys to the limits.”
Imenger said Lobi Stars will now move to the next phase of preparation which is the Gold Cup in Ado-Ekiti where they are expected to lock horns with the big teams in the NPFL.
He also said before they travel to Cameroon to take on CAF Champions League preliminary round opponents, USM de Loum on November 27, Lobi Stars will battle Enugu Rangers in this year’s Super Cup in Asaba.
The former Arab Contractors and FC Zurich striker therefore prayed for favourable fixtures to enable Lobi Stars succeed in the continent.
“The first phase of camping has been a huge success. The next step now is to take on the big teams in the Gold Cup to be staged in Ado-Ekiti beginning from November 15,” he said.
