Residents urged to demand for transparent governance

- By Taiwo Adeniyi

The Field Superintendent of the Apostolic Church Nigeria, Abuja, Pastor John Buzu, has urged residents to demand for transparent governance instead of money politics.

The cleric said Nigerians should be careful and not be deceived by the stipends doled out by politicians who needed power.

“They should be wise enough to allow leaders who have the interest of Nigeria in their hearts to emerge,” he said.

Buzu, who made the call at the church’s 15th annual convention, with theme, ‘The Gospel: God’s Power for National Recovery’, said Nigerians do not learn from the past, as they are easily carried away by vain promises and monetary rewards given to them to gain their votes during elections.

“Whoever that has good motives for Nigerians, and can move this country forward, irrespective of political party, that person should be supported. People should not be carried away by empty promises, but people who have the interest of Nigerians at heart,” he said.

Buzu, while speaking on the convention’s theme, said Christians and Nigerians should be open to know that true recovery comes from God, “that what Nigerians are experiencing presently shows that they cannot solve their problems themselves, but to seek the face of God,” he said.

“Any nation that rules out God from the helm of affairs, forget about that nation, there will be no headway, because God is the owner of the whole universe,” he said.
