The 2018 FCT Women’s league will today resume hostilities with four teams vying for honours.

The teams are Blessed Unity Angels of Area 10, Emmanuel Queens of Gwagwalada, Josiah Queens of Area 3 and Beautiful Tours Angels of Durumi.

According to a statement released by the FCT FA Acting Secretary, Haruna Usman Ilerika, the league fixtures which would be played in a round-robin format, will see Blessed Unity trade tackle with Josiah Queens today in the opening game at the Area 3 Play Ground, while the second game on the Match-day 1 will be between Emmanuel Queens and Beautiful Tours Angels.

Tomorrow will be match free day due to the public holiday declared by the Federal Government.

On Wednesday, Beautiful Tours Angels will play Blessed Unity, while Josiah Queens will take on Emmanuel Queens in the second group game of the day.

On Friday, Josiah Queens will face Beautiful Tours Angels, while Emmanuel Queens and Blessed Unity Angels will clash at the Area 3 Play Ground for their last group game.

Ilerika disclosed that after the league, the team with the highest points will represent FCT in the Amateur Women League next year.

FCT FA supports all the participating teams with kits which were presented to them on Friday.

Meanwhile, the owner of Blessing Tours FC, Mrs Agape Klamer has challenged the FCT administration to upgrade sporting facilities within the city.

She stated this in Abuja during the Beautiful Tours Football Club First Grassroots Football Enhancement Tournament held at the National Stadium.

“We will like the government to help us develop the facilities in the six Area Councils. We want the government to give us incentives. The money may not be huge. The government should help us train administrators to help discover new talents,” she said.
