1,700 Adara residents undergo free medical services by military

About 1, 700 members of Adara Community in Kachai Local Government Area of Kaduna state including an 80-year-old man have undergone a free medical outreach aimed at improving their health and overall wellbeing.

The outreach, organized by the Nigerian Army Corps of Artillery, Kachia is in Commemorat­ion of the 2018 Vulcan Glow military exercise.

It included free diabetic screening, free eye screening, free dental consultati­on and general treatment for residents.

Arewa Trust reports that people with minor eye problems were given glasses and drugs of various types, while others with critical illness were referred to the general hospital for further treatment.

80-year-old Ismail Ibrahim said that the medical outreach was coming at the most needed time that the residents were suffering from all forms of illness.

“We are very happy about this, and we pray that God Almighty will continue to guide the army.”

Earlier, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai who was represente­d at the event by the Commander, Infantry Corp Center (ICC), Major General, Hakeem Otiki, said the exercise was part of the social responsibi­lity of the Nigerian Army.

He added, “This is part of activities lined up to mark the 2018 Vulcan Glow exercise. The medical outreach is a great achievemen­t for the Nigerian Army.”
