The Super Falcons will this evening battle the Lioness of Cameroon for a final spot at the ongoing 11th Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in Ghana.

The Nigerian ladies over the years have been a stumbling block to the Lionesses’ quest to win their first African title after denying them in 1991, 2004, 2014 and 2016.

Thus, the Indomitable Lioness will be all out for revenge as they battle the Super Falcons in Accra.

After booking a place in the semi-final, Super Falcons coach, Dennerby told cafonline.com that he was aware that against Cameroon, a World Cup ticket would be at stake.

“The match that awaits us against Cameroon promises to be exciting because it was the poster of the last two finals. Final before the latter? Why not”.

Speaking to Daily Trust yesterday in the same vein, the Secretary General of the Nigeria Football Federation, Dr Sanusi Mohammed expressed confidence that the Falcons will overrun the Lioness.

“Now that we are going to slug it out against the Lioness of Cameroon , we are not new to them and they are not new to us.

“We know ourselves for long. The last time we met, we defeated them in front of their home fans to win the trophy”.

“Now they will be out to do what we did to them in their home. Our girls are very much aware of that and I believe the technical crew is working to ensure we overrun them and emerge victorious.

“Once we do that we know we have qualified for the World Cup, he said.”
