The community, under umbrella of Jasawa Community Development Association, (JCDA), made the accusation in Jos yesterday during the 10th commemoration prayer held at Jos Central Mosque for the victims of the crisis.
Shehu Musalla, president of the association alleged that Jang masterminded and sponsored the post local government election crisis in 2008.
He said: “There were many crises that happened in Plateau, but the November 28th, 2008 crisis was the worst because it had to do with hatred for certain religion and ethnic group and Jang was the mastermind and sponsor of the crisis.”
When contacted, Jang described the allegation as a political gimmick to tarnish his hard-earned reputation.
Responding through his media aide, Clinton Garuba, the former governor said that it was not the first time that the Jasawa communities were accusing him of sponsoring genocide.
“I can remember even in 2009 Jasawa communities have written a petition to the International Criminal Court (ICC) against exGovernor Jang, but it was thrown out for lack of merit. Therefore, if we can get the recent address of Jasawa where they made the accusation, then our next line of action is to take them to court,” he said.
