Foundation, SHEDI donate classrooms to Abuja public school
The School Hunters Education Development Initiative (SHEDI) in partnership with TY Danjuma Foundation has donated a block of five classrooms, learning materials and furniture to LEA Primary School, Dakwo, Abuja.
Speaking at the handover ceremony in Abuja, the Group Managing Director of SHEDI, Shola Okpodu, said the rationale behind the intervention, which was funded by TY Danjuma Foundation, was to improve the standard of education at the grassroots.
She said the intervention would improve the standard of early child care education in the school, adding that the pupils of the school would graduate into the primary section now better built.
“Basically do is assist what parents we by sending some of their children to school and also build blocks of classrooms for schools at the grassroots. So this is what we did here in LEA Primary School Dakwo,” she said.
She noted that aside building classrooms they also provided the school with learning facilities which included three desktop computers, six tables and chairs, and repaired 100 tables and chairs.
Responding, the headmistress the school, Mrs. Aisha Ahmed, commended the groups for coming to the rescue of the school.
