APC chieftain joins PDP with supporters in Kebbi
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Danko Wasagu area of Kebbi State, Alhaji Dan Musa Ribah, has moved to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) along with his teeming supporters.
The state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman, Alhaji Haruna Saidu, said this in Ribah, Danko Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State at the weekend when he received the decampees at a rally.
He however said Alhaji Dan Musa could not attend the ceremony organised for him and his followers in Ribah because he was taken away by unknown persons.
Saidu said prior to the defection ceremony, the exspeaker informed him that he decided to leave the APC because the party had not been fair to him as he was abandoned during his trying time. The governorship candidate of Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Plateau State, retired General Jon Temlong, has described himself as the best qualified person for the race because of his military and security credentials.
Retired General Temlong replaced Pastor Margaret Inusa of Glorious Life International Church Jos, who was not only an unopposed candidate but also the single female in the contest.
Speaking, yesterday, on his candidature during his unveiling at the party secretariat in Jos, Temlong said he had a track record of conflict prevention and crisis management when he was in the military.
The PDP governorship candidate, Senator Isah Galaudu, assured the defectors of equal treatment in the party.
He expressed delight that the PDP was waxing stronger in Kebbi and promised to offer credible leadership if elected governor in 2019.
He promised to use experience to resolve lingering Plateau crises.
He denied a rumour making the rounds that he was sponsored by the ruling APC to spoil the chances of the PDP candidate, Jeremiah Useni, who is his (Temlong’s) in-law.
Temlong said he was still a military general who made a firm decision of his own and stood by it, adding that he had not degenerated to that low level of petty politics to be sponsored by anyone to spoil the chances of another contender.
He commended the former candidate of the party, Pastor Margaret Inusa, for her efforts, adding that the replacement did not contravene INEC’s regulations. his the
