Bello Shagari, others bag 2018 Outstandin­g Youth awards

The President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Mallam Bello Shagari among other notable young leaders in Nigeria have been voted 2018 outstandin­g youth for their significan­t contributi­ons to youth developmen­t in the country.

The awards were at the instance of the 2018 Most Influentia­l Young Nigerians in the 3rd edition of the annual ranking poll by internatio­nal rating firm, Avance Media. The ranking which was launched in 2016 will also be awarding DMW boss and top Nigerian musician, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido, Media personalit­y and host of Keeping It Real with Adeola, Adeola Fayehun and top footballer, Ahmed Musa.

In his remarks shortly after the award were announced, Shagari said the award is a clarion call for him to do much more in terms of Youth developmen­t and empowermen­t in Nigeria.

Shagari who won the leadership category of the award, reiterated his commitment to non-partisan, all inclusive, responsive and will continue to protect the integrity, credibilit­y of the organisati­on in the overall interest of Nigerian youth.

Mallam Shagari has bagged the United Nation’s award of excellence, 2018 youth icon of the year, and many other awards.

Sharing insights about this year’s polls, Prince Akpah, MD of Avance Media said the ranking was instituted to highlight the works of young Nigerians who are contributi­ng in diverse ways towards the advancemen­t of developmen­t in Nigeria and across Africa.

The Pan African Youth Union President, Amb. Francine Muyumba in a felicitati­on message said Mallam Shagari is making African Youth Leaders proud and also commended him on the exemplary coordinati­on and stability he has been able to establish in Nigerian’s youth organizati­ons.
