Party holds election sensitisation rally for youth
The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has held a sensitisation rally for youth in the State ahead of the Presidential election slated for tomorrow and the Gubernatorial scheduled for March 2, 2019.
The awareness rally tagged: “Tips on How to Vote on Election Day” was organised by the by the Office of Youth Organising Secretary APC Lagos State, Idris Aregbe.
Aregbe said the party recognise the importance of enlightenment and has therefore taken the challenge of sensitising the electorate on what needed to be done on the election day.
“We’ve gathered our youth and some persons living disabilities and the voting populace to enlighten them on some changes relating to the voting process as introduced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
“The tips we are giving the youths are fundamental. It covers the period of voters’ arrival for accreditation, voting and waiting for the votes to be counted at respective polling booths,” he noted.
Coordinator of the event and former House of Representatives candidate for Somolu Federal Constituency, Abiodun Ogidan said the youth are central to Nigeria electoral success and there is a need to sustain their interest.
He said the Lagos APC is ready to do more to encourage youth participation in politics.
