Party holds election sensitisat­ion rally for youth

The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressiv­e Congress (APC) has held a sensitisat­ion rally for youth in the State ahead of the Presidenti­al election slated for tomorrow and the Gubernator­ial scheduled for March 2, 2019.

The awareness rally tagged: “Tips on How to Vote on Election Day” was organised by the by the Office of Youth Organising Secretary APC Lagos State, Idris Aregbe.

Aregbe said the party recognise the importance of enlightenm­ent and has therefore taken the challenge of sensitisin­g the electorate on what needed to be done on the election day.

“We’ve gathered our youth and some persons living disabiliti­es and the voting populace to enlighten them on some changes relating to the voting process as introduced by the Independen­t National Electoral Commission (INEC).

“The tips we are giving the youths are fundamenta­l. It covers the period of voters’ arrival for accreditat­ion, voting and waiting for the votes to be counted at respective polling booths,” he noted.

Coordinato­r of the event and former House of Representa­tives candidate for Somolu Federal Constituen­cy, Abiodun Ogidan said the youth are central to Nigeria electoral success and there is a need to sustain their interest.

He said the Lagos APC is ready to do more to encourage youth participat­ion in politics.
