Iorfa returns to Lobi Stars with Remo Stars

- By David Ngobua

One of the longest serving vice-chairmen of Lobi Stars, Dominic Iorfa will be the cynosure of all eyes at the Aper Aku stadium Makurdi today as he leads his team, Remo Stars to battle his former club in a week 10 NPFL fixture.

After leaving Lobi Stars in 2015, the former international took a long break from club administration but was recently appointed General Manager of Remo Stars football club.

The tie between Lobi Stars and Remo Stars therefore promises to be an interesting fixture as apart from the expected fireworks on the field of play, it will rekindle the rivalry between the current vice-chairman of Lobi Stars, Mike Idoko and Iorfa, two of the most prominent football administrators in Benue State.

Although Iorfa refused to comment on today’s match, one of his die hard supporters during his days as chairman of Lobi Stars who spoke to Daily Trust on condition of anonymity said the former Queens Park Rangers of England striker will receive warm welcome from his teeming supporters in Makurdi.

He said considering his massive contributions to Lobi Stars, football in Nigeria and Benue State in particular, Iorfa is sorely missed by football lovers in Makurdi.

According to him, fans of the former international are mobilising themselves to give support to Remo Stars in today’s match.
