Housewife kills husband over suspected girlfriend
The police in Kano State have arrested one Rashida Saidu Mohammed for allegedly killing her husband, Adamu Ali, over phone conversation with a person she suspected to be his girlfriend.
The police spokesman in the state, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, who confirmed the incident said it took place on Monday at Dorayi Quarters, in Gwale Local Government Area of the state.
It was gathered that the suspect is the second wife of the deceased and that she is currently under interrogations at the state CID unit of the command.
DSP Haruna said Ali died from injuries he sustained when the suspect threw him off a two-storey building.
He said the deceased suffered a fracture in the neck from the incident and was rushed to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital where he was confirmed on arrival dead.
According to the police spokesman, “The late Ali was having a conversation on phone with a person suspected to be his girlfriend when his wife barged into the room and engaged him in a fight intending to seize the phone from him.
“He struggled and found his way out of the room to the railed verandah and the woman followed him and engaged him again. She overpowered him probably because she was huge and threw him off the storey building and had his neck broken.”
He said the case was reported at the Gwale police station by the son of the deceased.
