Atiku haunted by his past - Ohikere
The National Chairman of Broom Platform, Dr. Tom Ohikere, says PDP candidate Atiku Abubakar rejected result of the presidential election because he is being haunted by his antecedents.
He alleged that the PDP and its stalwarts perfected rigging and impunity when they held sway and would therefore find it difficult to accept the outcome of any election, including the latest one which received global reception.
Ohikere, who spoke to some journalists in Abuja, said Atiku should not be expected to accept the result as declared by INEC having been privy to several rigged elections in PDP’s 16 year rule.
He said, “The rejection of the presidential election results as announced by INEC is quite unfortunate and deplorable. While the candidates of other political parties have been conceding defeat, Atiku Abubakar has taken a contrary measure.
“Even before the final declaration of the collated presidential results, some of Mr. Abubakar’s cohorts in the PDP have been calling for the rejection of the results, some even exhorted Atiku to form a parallel government in total disregard of the precept of our constitution.
So, his present declaration is of no surprise to us. It is these elements who might have misled him into denouncing the outcome and going to the court,” he said.
