PDP rejects outcome of Presidential, National Assembly elections in Kebbi
The Kebbi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party( PDP ) has rejected the outcome of last Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly elections in the state.
The party said the election was shrouded with vote buying, intimidation, harassment and connivance with the INEC, security agencies and some traditional rulers in favour of the APC.
The state chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Saidu Haruna during a press conference at the party’s secretariat in Birnin Kebbi said: “What happened in Kebbi was not elections. What they declared in Abuja as coming from Kebbi was a misrepresentation of the true position of what happened during the elections on Saturday.”
He added that the exercise was full of illegality and unacceptable to the PDP because it was not free, fair and credible”.
He warned that the party would not accept a repeat of what happened during the last elections during the governorship election on March 9 in the state.
“If anyone tries to usurp our mandate it will be met with resistance”, he said.
The party governorship candidate, Senator Isa Galaudu in his remark said he was disappointed by the role played by the stakeholders charged with the responsibility of conducting the elections.
He called on INEC, security agencies and traditional rulers in the state to live up to the expectations and see that a free and fair governorship election is conducted in Kebbi State on March, 9.
