Media Trust appoints ED finance, accounts and investment
Media Trust Limited, publishers of Trust titles has appointed Malam Nura Daura as the acting executive director of finance, accounts, and investment.
Daura was the company’s general manager in charge of finance and accounts before his latest elevation. He joined the company in 2010 as an Assistant General Manager (AGM), Internal Audit Department and in September 2013. He was promoted to Deputy General Manager/ Acting General Manager, Finance and Accounts.
Three years later, he was confirmed as a substantive general manager. His promotion was approved by Media Trust Board of Directors.
Before he joined Media Trust, Daura worked with the New Nigerian Development Company (NNDC) in Kaduna for 14 years.
He obtained his BSc in Accounting and MBA in Finance from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and the Nigeria Institute of Management.
Speaking on his promotion, Daura said he has no regret joining Media Trust as he has enjoyed job satisfaction in the company. He said nine years down the line after he made the right decision to join Media Trust, he has had opportunities and exposures from one department to the other.
“It’s been job satisfaction, career-wise, for me. It’s been a nice experience,” he said.
On the future of the company and its business, the new acting ED said the company has prospects and a promising future ahead.
“Daily Trust has a great future. There are a lot of opportunities for expansion. The company is just 20 years old, but by all standards, it’s a big company. There is still room for growth and there is zeal in me to contribute to the development of the company. The company is in the process of expansion and even with the new TV license that we have acquired, there are bigger challenges ahead,” he said.
