I dedicate my victory to people of Abaji – Council boss
The chairman of Abaji Area Council, Alhaji Abdulrahman Ajiya, has said he has dedicated his re - election in the Saturday chairmanship poll in the area.
Ajiya, while speaking with newsmen at his private residence in the area, commended voters for coming out en mass amidst hot weather to vote for him.
While promising not to fail them, he said top among his priorities as soon as he was inaugurated for a second term would be to complete roads and healthcare centres and sinking of boreholes as well as boosting the agricultural sector.
“We are also going to give more priority to the agricultural sector which is among one of the main stay of the country’s economy, while youth and women empowerment and skills acquisition will also be given adequate attention,” he said.
The chairman, however, said he was impressed with the way the elections were conducted under the atmosphere of peace without any reported cases of violence across the council, while he lauded the security and all party stakeholders for abiding by the signed peace pact.
He called on his opponent and his supporters to come and join hands with him in order to move the council to greater heights, saying his administration would continue to operate an open door policy that will impact on lives of entire people of the council.
