How I became the most beautiful girl in Nigeria – Anita

- From Usman A. Bello, Benin

Miss Anita Ukah is a 23 year old graduate of Igbinedion University Okada. The Laboratory Scientist is the current Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN). She was hosted by the University for making it proud. In this interview, she spoke to on how she won the crown and the project she will execute.

How do you feel being honoured by your Alma mata? I feel good and great for the love my former school showed me today, I thank the school management and the student for honouring me.

You won Miss Igbinedion University Okada (IUO) contest in 2014, how did that prepare you for the most beautiful girl in Nigeria’s contest?

Winning the Miss IOU gave me more vision and insight of what do and I wasn’t going into the competition as a novice. It actually prepared me for the most beautiful in Nigeria competition. So wining Miss IOU gave me the knowledge and platform to excel in other completions and I was not just going for a normal mission but I was going into the contest knowing what I

wanted and how to go about it. So IUO was a stepping stone for me because it opened my mind to always aim higher.

How do you hope to protect your crown from scandal?

God willing I know my right and also know how to go about it and what I know that is wrong I will try as much as possible to desist from it.

In the next one year, what are your plans for the society?

Currently, I am working on health and education for less privileged kids. I am planning to get all the kids from the streets back to school and providing healthcare to those in rural area. I will focus my project on the less privileged children

What were your challenges during preparation?

I didn’t really have much challenges because I have a lots of people

supporting me. The former MBGN queen really helped me hence I didn’t really face any challenge.

What would you say propeled you to win the contest?

I would say it is God because there were lots of intelligent girls there, I may not be the best but God was with me. Once you made it that far, you must be intelligent and physical. Though I have all this quality but it is the grace of God that stood me out.

What is your advice to ladies on impact creation?

My advice to them is to be focused and whatever they made up their mind to do, they should not allow anybody to chase them out. They should have the motivation, be brave and set their mind on it and they will achieve it. There is nothing that can stop them once they are focused and determined.
