Porting in Nigeria’s politics

-

Thank God, the elections had come and gone in several states in the country only a pocket of states were the elections inconclusive. Rivers state, presents the most interesting of all the states in Nigeria. I once wrote “Fighting” for the soul of Rivers State” a few weeks to the elections and my view then was like a prediction. The politicians in the Rivers State should save the state from bloodbath for God’s sake.

The truth is that the 8th National Assembly is PDP controlled. That is why all of them ported to PDP from APC before the last elections. We pray that the 9th National Assembly may not experience such a cog in the wheel of its operations.

The presidential election had come and gone. And, also won. Alhaji Atiku Abubakar turned himself to “Jesus of Nigeria” as he was prepared to donate his life to sell NNPC because of corruption in NNPC. Perhaps, he had forgotten his own statement at the signing of the Peace Accord where he said, “His wining the presidential election is not worth the life of any Nigerian”. Alhaji Atiku Abubarkar’s life too, is very precious to Nigerians that his dying because of NNPC is not worth it. Selling off NNPC is like killing the “common cash cow” of all Nigerians. Under the pretence of fighting corruption. Out – right sale is not the answer. But, making sure the refineries in the country are working.

Those new refineries already licensed are in operations. The present federal government had promised to make sure the four refineries are working very soon.

Those who thought that they are the alpha and omega of Nigeria politics have now seen the hand of God in Nigerian politics. Nigerians have realized the power they have in PVC.

The era of Afenifere, Arewa Elders Forum and Ohanaze Ndigbo, are gone and gone for ever. Afenifere has no more influence in the politics of western states, and the Arewa elder have no control in the Northern states. Likewise, Ohanaze Ndigbo also remains only as cultural group. They are cultural groups and are not strategically equipped to influence any more. The last elections are the case studies. I hope somebody should tell all these groups and others to keep off Nigeria’s politics and not to continue disgracing themselves at the altar of Nigeria’s politics.
