Supplementary election: Chairmen of 52 political parties reaffirm support for Lalong
Chairmen of the 52 political parties, who earlier endorsed the candidature of Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, before the governorship election have again reaffirmed their support for him in this Saturday’s supplementary rescheduled by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
This is contained in a statement signed on behalf of the 52 chairmen to this effect was by the chairman of Africa People Alliance (APA), Maula Ahmed Maigari.
“We Chairmen of the 52 political parties, who earlier endorsed the candidature of Governor Simon Lalong of the All Progressive Congress (APC), are calling on Plateau citizens, particularly the electorate in all the local government areas where supplementary elections will be held this Saturday 23, March 2019 to turn out en mass and massively elect Governor Lalong.
“Our earlier resolve to support the candidature of Governor Lalong as demonstrated officially and publicly during his official flag-off campaign at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium still remains valid. That is why we are calling on our teeming supporters to come out massively to vote the Governor/APC during this Saturday’s rerun. We equally urge INEC and its staff to conduct a free and acceptable elections.’’
The chairmen appealed to security agents to be just and civil in their approach to electorate during the exercise.
