Varsity gets 100% accreditation, matriculates students
The management of the Chrisland University, Abeokuta has celebrated the 100 per cent success rate recorded by the institution in the recent accreditation exercise carried out by the National University Commission (NUC).
At the varsity’s fourth Convocation Ceremony, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Mrs) Chinedum Peace Babalola said in spite of being a relatively young University, the institution has succeeded in carving a niche of quality for itself, a development that led to resounding score of 100 per cent in all of the nine programmes submitted to NUC in the Colleges of Arts, Social and Management Sciences and Applied Sciences.
“As we hold this matriculation for new set of students, we are conscious of the fact that we need to give them the best because youths are our future. We want to ensure that our graduates are not just the best, but are competitive anywhere they may find themselves in the world,” Prof. Babalola said.
Similarly, the University’s Chancellor and Founder, Dr (Mrs) Winifred Awosika also said because the University is passionate about turning out graduates who are to be great ambassadors for their families, schools and Nigeria, it will not be compromising on its disciplines and values. She solicited for the cooperation of the parents to make the commitment realistic.
The Guest Speaker, Oluseye Alabi who is also the Managing Director of Forte Upstream Services Limited admonished matriculating students to prepare for the tough academic challenges ahead while urging them to avoid any form of distractions. He also advised that they develop resilience spirit as that would help in the realization of their targeted goals.
