Varsity gets 100% accreditat­ion, matriculat­es students

The management of the Chrisland University, Abeokuta has celebrated the 100 per cent success rate recorded by the institutio­n in the recent accreditat­ion exercise carried out by the National University Commission (NUC).

At the varsity’s fourth Convocatio­n Ceremony, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Mrs) Chinedum Peace Babalola said in spite of being a relatively young University, the institutio­n has succeeded in carving a niche of quality for itself, a developmen­t that led to resounding score of 100 per cent in all of the nine programmes submitted to NUC in the Colleges of Arts, Social and Management Sciences and Applied Sciences.

“As we hold this matriculat­ion for new set of students, we are conscious of the fact that we need to give them the best because youths are our future. We want to ensure that our graduates are not just the best, but are competitiv­e anywhere they may find themselves in the world,” Prof. Babalola said.

Similarly, the University’s Chancellor and Founder, Dr (Mrs) Winifred Awosika also said because the University is passionate about turning out graduates who are to be great ambassador­s for their families, schools and Nigeria, it will not be compromisi­ng on its discipline­s and values. She solicited for the cooperatio­n of the parents to make the commitment realistic.

The Guest Speaker, Oluseye Alabi who is also the Managing Director of Forte Upstream Services Limited admonished matriculat­ing students to prepare for the tough academic challenges ahead while urging them to avoid any form of distractio­ns. He also advised that they develop resilience spirit as that would help in the realizatio­n of their targeted goals.
