- From Hammed Oyegbade, Osogbo

The chairman of Aenon Foundation, Engr Ademola Adedapo, weekend said he organised the science quiz competition in Osun secondary schools to awaken students’ interest in science.

According to him, science is a critical aspect of human existence that holds the key to unlocking potentials.

He said: “I want to see Steven Jobs emerge from here in the future and other great innovators and this can be achieved if we render supports to these students.

“We appreciate the level of interventions on education in the state by the government so far. However, there is still more to be done, and Aenon and others are ready to partner with the government to lessen its burden in providing or upgrading needed facilities, seeing to it that the future leaders are given the needed help to develop.”

The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, commended Adedapo for organising the competition.

The competition, which began with the 98 public secondary schools in Osun West Senatorial District, produced four finalists. Agbola Francis from St David High School, OdeOmu, emerged as the winner with a total of 45 points and got a N250,000 cash prize and a laptop.
