El-Rufa’i makes case for Speaker Aminu Shagali

Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai at the weekend assured the Speaker, State House of Assembly, Aminu Shagali that the government will ensure he retains his seat.

The governor described the speaker as a loyal party member who supported the government in the last four years.

Governor El’rufai made his position known while speaking at a dinner organized in his honour at the Government House.

He also appealed to other lawmakers-elect, particular­ly members of the All Progressiv­es Congress to support the state government’s decision on ensuring that Shagali retains his position as Speaker of the House of Assembly.

“I am grateful to people of Kaduan State for coming out in larger number to vote for President Muhammadu Buhari, for me and members of State House of Assembly.

“I’m happy to say that we ( APC) already had two-third majority in the state House of Assembly to retain the leadership that have served the state so diligently in the last four years to continue,” he said.

He added that the speaker is a loyal member that supported the state government in the last four years and should be allowed continue as the leader of the house.

The Governor further appealed to other elected office holders to also extend governance to everyone, including those that didn’t vote for them. He called on all his opponents and supporters to put hands together and work for the progress and developmen­t of the state.

He said on his part he would work for the progress and developmen­t of the state as he equally promised to correct his past mistakes.
