I visit the rich to make case for my town – Oluwo

- From Hammed Oyegbade, Osogbo

The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, says whenever he visits the rich, it is to seek their assistance on how to solve the problem of his community.

The first-class traditional ruler explained this yesterday in an interview.

“I visit the rich to place what my town lacks and seek their assistance for solving the lack. When you see me at private peoples residence, it is primarily for my town’s interest in employment, infrastructural facilities, social responsibility projects, and other life impacting succouraiding standard of living.

“I’ve visited Alhaji Aliko Dangote. He sent a delegation to inspect my town for forensic studying and feasibility overview of what company could be situated in Iwo. He still promises at every discussion and I’m hopeful.

“I recently visited the Lagos based Estate Broker, Sir Olu Okeowo and was in Abuja last week to pursue my assignment in the location of Jaiz Bank in Iwo. Today, the chairman if the bank sent delegation led by Kazeem Taoreed, the southwest regional manager. I’ve suffered for this land and I’m enjoying it. It is a price I have to pay because service to humanity has been part of me since I was young.

“To the poor and the aged, I visit the static aged under their roof to know their welfare status and donate my widow’s mite to meet their immediate needs. I distribute foodstuffs and money within my financial reach, have jolly talks to reinvigorate their health. Believe me, through this, God has used me to give hope to the hopeless,” he said.
