National Associatio­n of Kaura LG Students elects officers

The National Associatio­n of Kaura Local Government Students (NAKS), on Saturday elected executives that will steer the affairs of the associatio­n for the next one year.

The election, which took place at Government College Kagoro, was attended by 180 delegates.

The electoral officer, Mr. Ezekiel Sunday Bobai, commended the delegates for their peaceful conduct, before, during and after the election.

Administer­ing the oath of office to the new executives the Electoral Committee Chairman, Mr. Derick Christophe­r, who spoke through his vice, Mr. Dogara Suku, congratula­ted the new executives and tasked them to see their emergence as a call to serve.

He said the associatio­n was set up to create a platform for students in the area to develop leadership qualities, and interact with each other.

In a remark, the representa­tive of the Kaduna State Ministry of Youth and Sport, Mrs. Zipporah Gonoh, urged the new leaders to join hands with the youth council of the local government in the developmen­t of students in the area.

In her acceptance speech, the new president, Linda Sakyen Bala, who is a student of Chemistry Education at Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, thanked members for the confidence reposed in her and appealed for cooperatio­n to enable the executive members discharge their responsibi­lities.

Others elected included Linus Daniel, Vice President, Gwaza Joshua Bikai, General Secretary, Keziah Tachio, Treasurer and Cajatan Kanwai as the Financial Secretary.
