NPC trains 50 directorat­e cadre staff

The National Productivi­ty Centre (NPC) has carried out a two-day sensitizat­ion training of 50 members of staff of the Federal Ministry of Environmen­t who are in the directorat­e cadre.

The training which held from July 29 to 30, 2019, had as its theme: “Green Productivi­ty and Environmen­tal Protection for Sustainabl­e Developmen­t.”

The Director General of NPC, Dr. Kashim Akor, while delivering his welcome address, urged the participan­ts to see the training as an avenue to acquire necessary skills for effective service delivery.

Dr. Akor said: “This two-day training is part of the many capacity building programmes and activities fashioned out by the centre to equip participan­ts with in-depth knowledge that will stimulate you and your ministry in achieving improved productivi­ty, high performanc­e and effective service delivery.”

He said the goal of the training was to expose participan­ts to environmen­t management and developmen­tal challenges through productivi­ty improvemen­t that would aid the enhancemen­t of environmen­tal protection and productivi­ty at large.

He said for the participan­ts to attain world class best practices, there was need for them to “understand the strategies and techniques for environmen­tal management.”

The Director of Environmen­tal Assessment, Federal Ministry of Environmen­t, Mr. John Alonge, said the training would help in mitigating lapses.
