Bauch govt constructs N3bn rural roads in Darazo, Misau LGAs
Bauchi state governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammed, has flagged-off the construction of rural roads worth N3 billion to link Darazo and Misau local government areas.
The 16.2 kilometer road will be constructed from Sade in Darazo local government area to Akuyam, Gwaram and Hardawa in Misau local government area.
Speaking during the flag off ceremony in Sade the governor said the construction was in line with his campaign promise of providing infrastructure to the people.
He said 50 percent of the contract sum has been paid to ensure the completion of the project on time.
He said that, when completed, the road will reduce hardship being faced by people of the area who are mostly farmers in transporting goods and services to the market.
He said his administration will award more road projects to speed up infrastructural development of the state.
The Governor appealed to people to support and cooperate with his administration for effective implementation of its policies and programmes geared towards improving their living condition.
In his remark, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of works and Transport, Engineer Stephen Abubakar, said the road was designed for construction 36 years ago but was neglected by successive governments.
The Member Representing Hardawa Constituency at the State House of Assembly, Alhaji Babayo Mohammed, who spoke on behalf of the benefiting communities, thanked the governor for the project.
