Eid el-Kabir: Muslim faithful should embrace peace

-

Iurge Muslim faithful to embrace peaceful coexistence and urge them to continually reflect on the need for peaceful coexistent and to also preach the message of peace which Islamic religion advocates. Peace is an essential condition for development, prosperity and enlargement. No meaningful human venture can be conducted in an atmosphere that is devoid of peace. I urge every Muslim faithful to use the occasion of Sallah celebration to work towards peaceful coexistence with neighbors and fellow country mean and women.

I also decry the current spate of violent crimes and lack of respect for the sanctity of human lives in the country and equally charge all Muslim Ummah to take advantage of the Eid al-Fitr to call on Allah to have mercy for Nigeria so that peace can return to the country.

I also urge Islamic clerics and leaders to eschew hate teachings and continually preach the message of peace, contentment and fear of Allah. Lack of contentment and fear of God are few of the reasons responsible for the elusive peaceful coexistence in Nigeria. But we can still retrace our steps as individuals so as to make life better, meaningful abundant for all and sundry.

I therefore advise Muslims to celebrate with moderation and imbibe the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on love, peace and tolerance.
