Plateau Utd mourn reporter Liman

The management of Plateau United Football Club of Jos has condoled Daily Trust Newspaper over the death of one of its dedicated reporters, Bashir Liman.

According to a statement signed by the Media Officer of the Club, Albert Dakup, the death of the young vibrant journalist, came to the team as a rude shock.

The statement quotes the General Manager of the Club, Pius Henwan describing Liman as a hardworkin­g journalist who covered the club activities with an undying passion right from the team’s return to the Nigeria Profession­al Football League in 2016.

The General Manager while recalling with fond memories his contributi­ons towards propagatin­g the club to the world, urged his family to take his painful loss in good fate, stressing that God loves him most.

The statement also commiserat­ed with the Nigeria Union of Journalist­s NUJ, Plateau State Council and the Sports Writers Associatio­n of Nigeria SWAN over the great loss.

The club called on the two associatio­ns to see Liman’s demise as a necessary end to all mortals as the club also share in the grief.

Liman, 34 died last Saturday evening in a ghastly motor accident along Ningi road while traveling to Jama’are in Bauchi State.

Until his death, Bashir was also a staff of the Ministry of Mining and Steel stationed in Plateau State.

The deceased who had great passion for sports particular­ly football worked with Daily Trust as a freelance journalist contributi­ng to all the Trust titles including the Hausa publicatio­n, Aminiya.
