- By Ojoma Akor

The Women and Their Seed, a non-governmental organization, is working to support over 500 women and children living with HIV/AIDS in the country.

Founder of the group, Mrs Obiageli Stella Ngoesina, made the disclosure yesterday in Abuja during the N100m fund raising dinner in support of HIV patients.

She said the group was also working towards supporting indigent women and children across the country.

Ngoesina said that her research team had gone to different parts of the country on a needs assessment to enable her empower them appropriately after the fund raising event.

While saying her nongovernmental organization had assisted the less privileged within and outside Nigeria, she said her lean resources could not cater for the needs of the so many people in need of assistance, and that she had to return to the country to raise funds to support more people.

She added that more attention would be given to HIV patients to enable them access their medication.

She said: “After this fund raising ceremony, we are going to go to several states of the country like Lagos, Owerri, Enugu, and Kano to find the out the challenges of women and children and intervene with our support.

“The fund we are raising today is to cater for women, child and youth who are infected with HIV so that they can buy drugs.

“We also want to organize training for poor women to enable them start small businesses of their own,” she said.

Ngoesina called on wealthy and good spirited individuals to support the NGO to enable it reach more less privileged persons.
