Ogbomosho community in Kafanchan sues for unity

Ogbomosho residents in Kafanchan, Jema’a local government area of Kaduna State, have resolved to partner with all stakeholde­rs in the area to promote peace and unity amongst diverse ethics and religious groups in the area.

Mr James Adetunji, Chairman of Ogbomosho Associatio­n in Kafanchan stated during a gathering of members of the associatio­n in commemorat­ion of “Nigeria at 59”.

Adetunji, who commended Jema’a Emirate Council for carrying all ethnic groups within its domain along, pledged the associatio­n’s resolve to contribute its quota in strengthen­ing peace and unity in the area.

“This meeting is meant to keep closer ties amongst Ogbomosho residents in Kafanchan and also acknowledg­e and identify with the efforts of the host community in creating a conducive environmen­t for peace to thrive,” he said.

Alhaji Ibrahim Salahudeen, a member of the associatio­n, who was born and lived for over 50 years in Kafanchan, tasked Nigerians to discard religious and ethnic sentiments.

“We must do away with religious and ethnic affiliatio­n and unanimousl­y work towards consolidat­ing the efforts of the government towards enshrining peaceful coexistenc­e for developmen­t to thrive,” he said.

Also, Mr Joel Adegboyeng­a, Secretary of the Associatio­n said the meeting, which was part of the efforts to keep the legacy of their forefather­s also identified the significan­ce and role of the youths as key players.
