45 political parties endorse Bello’s second term bid
No fewer than 45 political parties have endorsed the second term bid of Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State.
State chairman of the Coalition of Political Parties (CPP), Dr. Sani Teidi, who disclosed this at a press conference in Lokoja yesterday, noted that the decision was reached after the various political parties, “objectively analyzed all the parties and candidates that are contesting in the November governorship election.”
He stated that Bello's administration had provided Kogi State the various indices of development, “by eliminating ethnic, religious and class differences among the people.”
CPP however charged the governor to see his endorsement as a call to “provide even more transformational leadership to Kogi State, rather than a victory over the opposition.”
The political parties that endorsed Governor Bello according to the chairman are KOWA, DA, APA, LP, NNPP, YES PARTY, AGAP, MMN, ABP, AA, SNG, NPC, NAC, BNPP, DPP, ABDP, PDC, CAP, ACCORD, AD, GPN, PPN, NCP, YDP, JMPP, ZLP, PPP, HDP, AAC, PRP, NPM, ACPN, UPP, ACD, NEPP, NDLP, NRM, AGA, DPC, NUP, RBNP, RAP, CNP, PDM and NDC.
Responding, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Deputy Governorship candidate, Chief Edward Onoja, said the endorsement was for the unity, interest and the development of the state, adding that it will go a long way to show what election is all about.
Meanwhile, INEC has assured persons with disabilities (PWDs) that adequate provisions have been made to guarantee their full participation in the November 16 governorship election in Kogi.
INEC's Resident Electoral Commissioner in Kogi, Prof James Apam, who gave the assurance yesterday in Lokoja at a sensitisation forum organised for PWDs by INEC in collaboration with the International Foundation for Electoral System (IFES), said the commission was committed to an all-inclusive participation in the electoral process.
