A Non-Governmental Organization known as Justice, Peace and Pacific Resolution Forum, of Nigeria has commiserated with the state government and the Gummi Emirate Council over the deadly attack in Karaye community of the state.

In a statement jointly signed by the state chairman of the forum Alhaji Hamisu Dauran and its National Chairman, Professor Kabir Jabaka, the described the killings as unfortunate and extend the forum’s condolences to the state government, Gummi emirate council as well as the families of the victims of the attack.

Alhaji Hamisu Dauran said the forum was firmly supporting the state government in its quest for peaceful resolution of the crisis that has been plaguing the state for many years and urged the people of the state to support the effort towards amicable resolution of the crisis in the state.

“One of the noble objectives of our forum is encouraging people and communities to always see to peaceful resolution of crisis no matter what the grievances of warring factions may be as no war has ever ended in the battle field but at a round table discussion.”

Alhaji Dauran then warned against any attempt to undermine the efforts being put in place to make the warring parties lay down their arms without firing a single shot adding that forgiveness, not retribution, is bringing hearts together.

He then enjoined all actors in the conflict across the state to see reason in giving peace a chance so that the much needed development and prosperity would be brought to the doorsteps of the good people of the state irrespective of sex, tribe, religion or social status.
