Customs win again as NSCDC suffer third defeat in Volleyball Premier League
Defending champions, Nigerian Custom Service ( NCS) have continued to dominate proceedings at the ongoing Nigeria Volleyball National Premier League with a 3-0 victory over UCEM.
Customs defeated UCEM in three straight set (25-23, 25-17, 25-16) in the men’s match played at the Moshood Abiola Package B stadium in Abuja yesterday.
Nigeria Customs Service dominated the proceedings in the opening stages of the encounter as their services was too heavy for the UCEM who fought back but it was little to late as the first set ended 25-23 in favour of Customs.
In the second set, Customs were in imperious form as they defeated UCEM 25- 17 points to make it three wins in three games.
Captain of the Nigeria Customs Service, Isaac Geoffrey reiterated the desire of his team to retain their title adding that they will put up an impressive performance when they battle with another title contenders Nigeria Police Force later today.
“We have been working hard to make sure we retain our title. We played to the our coach’s instruction and that is what has given us the victory” he said.
“We aware of the threats from the Nigeria Police Force but we are no scared of them. We are going to do what we know how to best when play them tomorrow (today). We are just looking for three more point to be crowned the champions again so that is what we are going out for," he concluded.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp (NSCDC) suffered their third defeats in the hands of Kano Pillars 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-23) in the first match of Day 5.
Also, Nigeria Police Force overcame Nigeria Immigration Service 3-0 (2520, 25-16, 25-22) to put themselves in contention for the title
