Aduda takes over from Olusade …vows to take ministry to next level
Mr Gabriel Taminu Aduda has officially taken over as the new Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.
Aduda on Monday took over after his predecessor, Olusade Adesola who was redeployed to the Ministry of Niger Delta handed over to him in a brief ceremony in Abuja.
In a chat with journalists after the ceremony, Aduda said he will build on the achievements of his predecessor to take the ministry to the next level.
“We are looking forward moving the ministry to the next level, looking forward to build on the achievements and legacy being left behind. We are looking forward to further expose and more importantly to see how we can beam the search light more on the youth development and bring attention to youth and sport.
“As you are aware, a lot of work is being done especially with the minister who is so passionate about the youths. We are actually going to be riding on a new terrain and see how we can open up the environment for our youths. A lot is already in offing and we will build on that,” he said.
In the same vein, Olusade expressed his optimism at the capabilities of his successor to perform.
“Government is
a continuum and we have played our part. Where we stopped, he will continue and he will excel just as he said he will take it to the next level,” he said.
Aduda was the Permanent Secretary Political and Economic Affairs Office and Chairman National Authority on Chemical & Biological Weapons Convention (NAC&BWC), Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation before his redeployment.
He holds a B.Sc. Degree in Geography and Planning from the University of Jos and a Masters degree in Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) from the prestigious University of Ibadan.
