Day Kano youths met to address unemployment
Agroup of young entrepreneurs in Kano State have gathered to form a coalition called, ‘Inspire Arewa Youths Initiative (IAYA)’ to provide guidance and counselling opportunities to budding entrepreneurs.
Chairman of the group, Mr Muhammad Sani Ibrahim, at the gathering stated that he collaborated with over 20 other persons with like minds to form the platform.
He said it would facilitate business opportunities for the members and other interested youths who desire to become employers of labour.
Ibrahim said: “The event was aimed at featuring young, passionate and vibrant entrepreneurs trying to make history by building a sustainable business environment for growth and development.”
The themed,
event “Shaping the future through entrepreneurship” was aimed at sharpening the minds of our generation to create a sustainable environment by being much more independent, regardless of their socioeconomic position in life, said another participant, Malam Mariya Sahabi.
The event was excellent opportunity for young promising entrepreneurs to showcase what they have in terms of their business packages.
The group’s chairman said they achieved a major breakthrough by signing a deal with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to enable the members do instant business registration and be issued certificates.
“An instant opportunity to get a corporate or business account from a reputable bank has also been provided to participants and all these were achieved within a day,” he added.
Titled SME 1.0, the event started with a mentoring session that exposed the participants to various opportunities.
The youths were also educated on how to start an online business with zero capital among other opportunities.
Among the dignitaries at the event was the San Turakin Ringim, Abba Sayyidi Ringim.
