Out of the mountain of despair, a stone of hope
Lawmaker distributes 300 JAMB forms to students
Member of the House of Representatives from Zuru/Fakai/Sakaba - Danko/Wasagu Federal Constituency of Kebbi State, Kabir Ibrahim Tukura has distributed 300 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) application forms to members in his constituency.
The lawmaker also promised to sponsor successful candidates admitted to study in specified disciplines under the ‘Kabir Tukura Initiative’ throughout their university degree programmes.
A statement from his office said the form is for those who would want to study Medicine, Nursing and a few other courses.
Tukura, who noted that the distribution was ongoing at his constituency liaison offices located at the headquarters of the four local governments councils in the constituency, said the gesture was meant to ensure that people who have the requisite qualification to attempt JAMB are not denied the opportunity due to lack of funds.
“The Kabir Tukura initiative is delighted to announce the procurement of 300 JAMB forms/registration and subsequent sponsorship of successful candidates throughout their tertiary education programmes. This initiative is aimed at reducing the financial burden on parents and students who desire to obtain university degrees.
“It is our hope and expectation that members of our constituency will take advantage of this initiative and present themselves to benefit from the rare opportunity,” it noted.
