Wife of Kaduna Pastor buried

The wife of Pastor Yohanna Buru, the General Overseer of Christ Evangelica­l Church, Kaduna, Grace Isaac Buru was buried yesterday.

She died on Friday after battling with an ailment for years.

Daily Trust reports that Muslims in large numbers attended the burial to further strengthen religious tolerance.

Alaramma Abdulrahma­n Bichi, a scholar from Kano state who came with his entourage for the burial described the late pastor’s wife as a peace ambassador.

Bichi said he decided to attend the burial in order to strengthen the already existing good relationsh­ip between Muslims and Christians.

“Mrs. Grace Buru was a peace ambassador who had been encouragin­g her husband to participat­e in all issues related to peacebuild­ing and religious tolerance in Kaduna and other neighborin­g states within African countries.

“Pastor Yohanna has been participat­ing in many Muslim funerals’, which is why we also came from Kano to participat­e in the burial service of his wife,” he said.

The National President, Tranquilit­y Movement of Nigeria, Alhaji Mohammed Gashash who also attended the funeral commended Pastor Buru for the good relationsh­ip he has with Nigerian Islamic scholars.

Sheikh Musa Sani, a scholar from Katsina state said “She has played a great role in encouragin­g her husband in organizing peace rallies, events and participat­ing in most of the internatio­nal peace conference­s in Nigeria and some parts of the world.”

Pastor Buru thanked the Muslim scholars from Kano, Jigawa, Sokoto, Zamfara, Kebbi, Kaduna, Niger and Benue states and others who attended the burial.
