APC chieftain, Inuwa Abdulkadir dies at 54
A former North-West vice chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Barrister Inuwa Abdulkadir, passed on in the early hours of yesterday at the age of 54.
Abdulkadir died at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto, after a brief illness.
The Public Relations Officer of the University, Zayyanu Shehu, confirmed the death to journalists in Sokoto.
He survived by two wives and nine children.

Muhammadu Buhari has joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to mourn the death of Abdulkadir.
President Buhari, in a statement issued yesterday by his spokesman, Femi Adesina, commiserated with family members, friends and political associates of the party stalwart, who also served the country as Minister of Sports and Youth Development, and played a prominent role in the creation and sustenance of the party.
Also, the APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, yesterday expressed sadness over the death of the party’s chieftain.
Tinubu in a statement said late Abdulkadir was a prominent legal luminary who served his Sokoto State, Nigeria, and the legal profession to the best of his abilities.
He said, “He was a friend and associate who contributed to the political merger that led to the creation of APC and the progress and development of the party. He was also a grassroots politician.
“I commiserate with members of his immediate and extended family, particularly his wife and children, who have lost their father and patriarch.
“I mourn with his political and professional associates, particularly members of the Nigerian Bar Association, for they have also lost a worthy compatriot.”
Similarly, the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has joined other Nigerians to mourn the death of Abdulkadir.
A statement signed by the forum’s National Publicity Secretary, Emmanuel Yawe, and issued in Kaduna, said the APC chieftain would be sorely missed.
