NIHOTOUR, Benue govt parley to boost tourism
The Director General (DG) of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR), Alhaji Nura Kangiwa, has promised to collaborate with the Benue State Government to boost manpower and capacity development of youths in the state.
Alhaji Kangiwa made the promise when he received the Benue State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mrs. Ngunan
Addingi, in his office.
The spokesman of the institute, Mallam Ahmed Mohammed Sule, in a statement, said the state had demonstrated enough passion and commitment to the growth and development of tourism and hospitality in the state and needed support to accomplish its vision of growing the sector.
He said NIHOTOUR was willing to partner with the state government to make Makurdi, the hub of tourism and hospitality training in the North Central region.
Mrs. Addingi who congratulated him on his appointment as the DG, said the Benue State Government would need NIHOTOUR in Makurdi to enhance the capacity and manpower development needs of the state.
She said the state government had shown enough commitment and high level passion in growing its tourism potentials, but called for more capacity especially with NIHOTOUR’s intervention.
