- From Maryam Ahmadu-Suka, Kaduna

Some women and children displaced by the recent crisis in Southern Kaduna have been provided with relief materials by an NGO, Initiative for Collaborative Quality Education (ICQE), at an Internally Displaced Peoples’ (IDPs) camp in Kujama, Kaduna State.

The IDPs, mostly widows and orphans of Adara, Gbagyi and other tribes, were given clothes, foodstuff and other materials.

The leader of ICQE, Elizabeth Nuhu Garba, while making the donation, said the donation was to reduce their hardship..

She further said, “The relief became mandatory to help the needy, especially women, children and the elderly, after they were forced to flee their homes due to the menace of kidnapping and other insecurity challenges.”

Shecalledonwealthyindividuals, corporate organisations and government to come to the aid of the displaced.

The General Overseer of Christ Evangelical Intercessory Fellowship Ministry, Pastor Yohanna Buru, who accompanied the NGO to the camp, stressed the need for Nigerians to assist one another.

Pastor Buru said, “The number of refugees, widows and orphans due to ethno-religious crises, banditry and kidnapping was on the increase, hence the need for government to redouble effort towards bringing an end to the situations.
