Kano:

A Senior Magistrate Court sitting in Kano on Wednesday sentenced a 21-year-old man, Abubakar Abdullahi, to three months imprisonment for possession of Indian hemp. Abdullahi, of Gwammaja Quarters Kano, had pleaded guilty to a two-count charge of possession of dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and public nuisance, following which he was convicted. Senior Magistrate Ibrahim Mansur sentenced the convict with an option to pay N20,000 for the offence. (NAN)
