Yobe schools get 510 pedal-op­er­ated hand wash­ing ma­chines

To en­sure safe re­open­ing of schools af­ter COVID-19 re­stric­tions, the Mul­tiSec­toral Cri­sis Re­cov­ery Project (MCRP), a World Bank funded pro­gramme in Yobe, has do­nated 510 hand wash­ing ped­al­op­er­ated ma­chines to schools in Yobe State.

Pre­sent­ing the items, the state project co­or­di­na­tor, Musa Idi Ji­dawa, said that of the 510 ma­chines do­nated, 300 were handed over to Min­istry of Ba­sic and Se­condary Ed­u­ca­tion for on­ward dis­tri­bu­tion to schools across the state.

Ac­cord­ing to him, other com­pli­men­tary sup­port to the state through the project con­sisted of the cre­ation of two molec­u­lar lab­o­ra­to­ries for COVID-19 test­ing in Da­maturu and Nguru.

Speak­ing while re­ceiv­ing the items, Com­mis­sioner for Ba­sic and Se­condary Ed­u­ca­tion, Dr Sani Idris, rep­re­sented by the Di­rec­tor of Schools, Shuaibu Bu­lama, as­sured that all items would be dis­trib­uted to the tar­geted schools.
