Abuja:

A man, Samuel Okoye and his 23-year-old son, Emmanuel Okoye, who were kidnapped penultimate Wednesday have regained freedom.

The kidnappers had last Wednesday, at about 8:15 pm opened fire on a Golf car near Pegi, Kuje Area Council, FCT, and abducted the man and his son, while the driver sustained injuries.

A member of the victim’s family, who sought anonymity, told our reporter in Pegi yesterday that the man and his son were released after an undisclosed ransom was paid.

Spokesman of the FCT police command, ASP Mariam Yusuf, confirmed the story, but denied that ransom was paid before the victims were released.
