Teofimo Lopez upsets Vasyl Lomachenko
IBF lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez upset the odds when he beat WBA, WBO, and WBC Franchise champion Vasily Lomachenko on a 12-round unanimous points decision in ”The Bubble” at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
The scores were 117-111, 116-112 and a way out 119-109.
The smaller Lomachenko was unable to dictate the fight with his elusive style, as he has done in previous fights, and was kept on the back foot through most of the fight.
Junior welterweight Arnold Barboza (25-0; 10), who is rated at No 7 by both the WBC and WBO, won on a closely fought ten-round unanimous points decision over WBO No 6 Alex Saucedo (30-2; 19)
