FG engages diaspora on dev’t plans

The Federal Government is engaging the Nigerians in the diaspora community as well as other relevant stakeholde­rs as it inches towards the launch of the revised national plans.

The Medium-Term National Developmen­t Plan (MTNDP) was launched recently, 20212025 for launch in December 2020, and the Nigeria Agenda 2050 by July 2021.

The Minister of State, Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Agba started this Monday at a webinar meeting with Nigerians in Diaspora on the preparatio­n of Medium Term National Developmen­t

Plan (MTNDP) 2021-2025 and Nigeria Agenda 2050.

He told the Diaspora that the 3-tiers of government need to collective­ly develop the Successor Plans - Medium & Long term (2021-2025; NV2050) to replace the ERGP 2017 - 2020 and Vision 2020. The process for the formulatio­n of the succession plans and new vision has commenced already and it is important to engage all the stakeholde­rs in the process” he said.

According to him, the current administra­tion has identified nine government priorities for implementa­tion during the period 2019-2023; which have been captured as priorities in the medium-term plan.

Meanwhile the Planning arm of the Ministry of Finance, Budget and Planning has launched the standard operating procedure (SOP) to eliminate duplicatio­ns and eliminate wastes.

The Minister of State Prince Agba, who launched the SOP and the 5-days sensitizat­ion workshop on SOP of the National Planning arm.

“With SOPs you can achieve the same results without sacrificin­g growth. SOPs provide the ethical and profession­al principles as well as step-by-step guidance on providing appropriat­e services.”
