Buni working over and beyond call of duty to meet electorate’s demands – Bego

Governor Mai Mala Buni’s administra­tion has, despite economic challenges, executed numerous economic, health, security, housing and road projects in Yobe State, the Commission­er of Informatio­n, Home Affairs and Culture, Abdullahi Bego, has said.

Bego said this while declaring open, a one-day meeting of the Broadcasti­ng Organisati­on of Nigeria (BON) Zone B in Damaturu.

He said the performanc­e of the governor in the areas of human developmen­t among other infrastruc­ture was spectacula­r.

He said at a time when other states were battling with how to source funds for the payment of workers’ salaries due to prevailing economic challenges, Governor Buni had been up to date while mega projects worth billions of naira were on-going across the state.

“Here in Yobe state, His Excellency the Executive Governor Hon. Mai Mala

Buni, is working over and beyond the call of duty to ensure that at the very least, the state government is able to fulfil its functions of providing security to the people, providing social amenities to improve the wellbeing and welfare of the people of the state.

“In the commerce sector, His Excellency, for the first time in the history of Yobe State, is constructi­ng a modern market in Damaturu, the state capital and other towns of Gahu’a, Nguru, Buni-Yadi and Potiskum worth billions of naira for enhance economic activities,” he said.

Bego said Buni was committed to improving the economy as well as the wellbeing of the people.

He said the government was currently building new models and mega schools in the major towns across the state; while a total of 3,600 housing units were being constructe­d with many near completion.

The Commission charged members of the BON Zone B comprising media chief executives from Borno, Yobe, Taraba, Gombe, Bauchi and Adamawa to redouble their efforts in publicisin­g human developmen­t projects happening across the northeast.
